Australia’s big tech 2025 Black Friday sales guide

Discounts and price drops come early, as Australians get in with Black Friday tech bargains ahead of the 2025 holiday season.

The end of November is upon us, and if you know your schedule well, you know what’s coming: Black Friday.

Yes, it’s that time of the year again: as Australians kick off their holiday shopping with a proper sale, it’s time to get settled into Black Friday 2025. We may not have Thanksgiving in our neck of the woods, but we certainly celebrate bargain hunting, and locals are all ready for that.

As usual, Pickr is ready right on time with a Black Friday tech sales guide, rounding up some of our favourite gadgets and sales found for the event, covering all sorts of categories.

With this Black Friday guide, there’s a staggering 3450 words covering deals from Beats, Bose, Dell, Google, HP, Laser, Lenovo, LG, Samsung, Sonos, Sony, and many, many more . It’s a positively huge list, so let’s get stuck in.

Phones

Starting with phones, one of the categories Pickr was founded over and that we cover reviews of so many devices.

You clearly don’t need to upgrade until you want to (or you break something), but phones are an area that typically sees a few price drops, even if it’s not from the brands or styles you may want.

For instance, Apple typically won’t offer major Black Friday discounts, if any, but other providers may end up delivering where Apple doesn’t, provided you don’t mind a slightly older phone.

Over at Boost Mobile, its refurb phones department is offering an iPhone 13 locked to Boost from $484, while the smaller iPhone SE from 2020 is possibly one of the cheapest iPhones around, starting at $229 for Black Friday. And if you fancy something better, the still good iPhone 15 Pro Max starts from $1198, though it’s getting close to this year’s $1399 iPhone 17, which while it misses one of the Pro Max’s camera is still a great handset all the same.

Google’s Pixel 10 range hasn’t been out long, and it’s dropping in price, too. The Pixel 10 Pro XL drops from $1999 to $1549, while the Pixel 10 standard is a stellar deal for Australia’s Black Friday, falling from $1349 to $899. Even this year’s less expensive Pixel 9a is a great buy for the week, dropping from $849 to $599.

Samsung will also offer discounts, though they’re less like discounts and more like purchases with extras. Buyers of the Galaxy S25, S25 Edge, Flip 7, and Fold 7 phones will get a Samsung Music Frame speaker with their phone, but not the S25 Ultra. That means Samsung’s two foldables from this year kind of have a gift with their price, but not so much a big drop.

You won’t see foldables from Motorola falling in price for Black Friday this year, and in fairness, there was only one new foldable from Moto, leaving us wondering: where was the Ultra model, Moto?

While we keep asking that, Motorola’s Edge 60 Pro gets $500 off, falling from $1199 to $699, while the Fusion edition drops from $699 to $499.

Xiaomi 15T Pro

And new to the market, Xiaomi will also offer its Leica-equipped 15T and 15T Pro phones for between $200 and $300 off, the 512GB 15T Pro falling to $1099 down from $1399, while the standard 15T goes from $1099 to $799 in its 512GB version.

If you don’t need the Leica tech or the high-end processor, Xiaomi’s lower priced Redmi brand will see other devices for much lower, including the recently reviewed Redmi Pad 2, which drops to $299 for a 256GB tablet.

Wearables

Wearables are also falling in price, though not quite as varied as the world of phones.

While you won’t find an Apple Watch properly in Black Friday sales, you will find a little over $200 off this year’s Galaxy Watch 8, bringing it to a starting price of $421.85 instead of $649, while last year’s Galaxy Ring is $419.40 down from $699.

Withings will offer one of our favourite wearables for less, as the Scanwatch Nova drops from $799.99 to $559.99, handy if you like that style of wearable.

Google’s take on the Apple Watch from last year, the Pixel Watch 3, falls from $499 to $229 in its large 45mm incarnation, and the smaller 41mm model is a decent $199 by comparison.

Google is also selling the older Fitbit wearables on discount, a surprise they’re not less expensive given it’s been years since they were updated.

Fortunately, there are inexpensive health gadgets about the place. At the very cheap end of the spectrum, Xiaomi’s Smart Band 9 Active will cost $35.50, while the Smart Band 10 is $63.50.

Sound

Moving onto one of our favourite categories that occupies much of the Pickr reviews desk: sound.

If you’re thinking of buying someone a pair of headphones, earbuds, or a speaker (or maybe even yourself), Black Friday is an ideal time to save on gadgets for the ears that would normally cost a pretty penny.

Headphones

Starting with headphones, which also covers earbuds, earphones, and open audio. Generally anything made for the ears.

In this category, noise cancelling pioneer Bose will offer modest price drops on its latest headphones, including the 2nd-gen Ultra Headphones falling from $699 to $599, as well as the Ultra Earbuds 2nd-gen from $449 to $379. If you don’t need this year’s latest tech, the slightly older QuietComfort Ultra earbuds are less at $278, while the over-ear headphones sporting the same tech in the Bose QuietComfort Ultra (1st-gen) are $480.

Google’s own Pixel Buds 2a were only recently reviewed, and they’re already $37 off, down for $202, while the more pro-grade Pixel Buds Pro 2 are not much more at $246, down from their regular price of $379.

Shokz has last year’s excellent OpenRun Pro 2 open earphones for running and fitness down 22 percent to $249, while this year’s earring-inspired OpenDots One are down 21 percent to $269, with other pairs for slightly less through its ranges.

Last year’s Sonos headphones, the Sonos Ace, also see a price drop, falling from $599 to $399 for a pair of Sonos-compatible noise cancelling headphones.

And even this year’s flagship headphones from Sony see a price fall, the WH-1000XM6 down $120 already, set to cost $578 both at Sony and other retailers. If you don’t mind one of the best models from before it for less, the also-excellent WH-1000XM4 is $328 for Black Friday, too.

Beyond these options, retailers will also have their own sales, seeing as little as $10 off and as much as over $200 depending on the model. There’s no official Apple or Beats sale, but JB HiFi is offering $231 off the Beats Studio Pro headphones bringing them down to $298, while the AirPods 4 with ANC are down $20 to $259.

A discount is a discount, no matter how small. It’s the sort of thing Horton would say.

Sennheiser’s Momentum 4 over-ear noise cancelling headphones also fall $100 at JB, dropping to $279, while its Accentum in-ear noise cancelling buds are practically half price at $174.

Over at Harvey Norman, Sennheiser gear is also on sale, including an 80th edition anniversary pair of Momentum 4 headphones for $288 and an open style of Accentum earbud for $88, down $90.

Speakers

It’s not just headphones, but also speakers that see some price shifts, too.

Like its headphones, Bose is offering speaker discounts for wireless speakers, dropping the SoundLink Micro to $100, the SoundLink Flex to $160, and the SoundLink Max to $478. It also has some home theatre speakers and soundbars in the mix, as well.

Almost every Sonos speaker is taking some cash off, though the amounts aren’t huge. The biggest discount comes from the Arc Ultra soundbar falling from $1799 to $1439 for Black Friday, while the Sub 4 drops from $1299 to $999. Most of the other Sonos price drops are relatively small by comparison: the Sonos Beam is $549 down from $799, the Sonos Move 2 is $599 down from $799, and the Sonos Ray only sees $50 off making it $299.

Finally, Amazon’s assortment of smart speakers is also on sale, including the Echo Spot’s drop to $99 for what is basically a digital alarm clock with a smart speaker inside.

TVs and projectors

The sales aren’t just for speakers, but the other side of the “audio visual” world. You know, the whole visual thing. We are, of course, talking TVs and projectors, and there’s a bit happening in there, as well.

Samsung has a fair few sales worth paying attention to for Black Friday in 2025, especially if you’re after a big TV.

If you don’t mind forgoing the latest QLED brilliance and just want size, the 98 inch Crystal UHD DU9000 drops from $5999 to $3799, making it a sub-$4K 98 inch TV. We’re not sure that’s existed before.

Samsung QN90F

If you want the better mini-LED backlit tech that is Neo QLED, Samsung’s 85 inch QN90F (above) drops from $5999 to $4899, while its 55 inch OLED S95F goes from $3999 to $2599 for Black Friday this year, as well.

Not to be outdone, LG’s 77 inch C5 OLED drops roughly $2K for the season, falling from $5999 to $3861, while the 83 inch variant goes from $7999 to $5882. Handy if you really wanted a big OLED this year.

You might find a few projectors around, too.

LG’s ultra-short throw CineBeam S 4K projector drops $800 to $1695 for this year’s Black Friday sales, while Anker’s Nebula projectors drop as much as 56 percent, which doesn’t include the Capsule Air we checked out earlier this year, but does see price drops on the Capsule 3 Laser.

Laser is running 50 percent off a gaming projector with built-in retro game emulators for $150, while an outdoor cinema bundle with a projector, 144 inch inflatable screen, wireless speaker, and a projector stand is 25 percent off, sitting at $299 down from $399.

Computers and peripherals

Black Friday could be the time to get a new laptop or accessory for your computer, with the discounts typically in the hundreds to a good thousand dollars for some models.

Acer’s Aspire range see a few hundred bucks from most of its laptops, while Apple’s Black Friday options for the M4 variants of the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac Mini won’t see a discount, but will see a gift card of up to $400 for use at the Apple Store.

That’s kind of what Apple does at Black Friday, with gift cards over discounts.

HP also has a few sales, covering price drops of a good $200 to $1000 depending on the model. The Intel Core Ultra-powered OmniBook X Flip 16 falls from $3499 to $1999 with a Core Ultra 7 and 32GB RAM, while the Core Ultra 5 with 16GB RAM is $1599 down from $2659. HP’s Envy X360 variation on the theme also sees a good $1K in price drops, falling to as low as $1099 from $1999 a few weeks ago.

Not to be outdone, Dell will also offer modest price drops of between $150 and $750, including a drop of $450 on the Dell 16 Plus laptop we checked out earlier this year, while the Alienware 16 inch Area 51 gaming laptop drops $750 down to $2670 with a Core Ultra 9, Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080, 32GB RAM, and 2TB storage. That should keep a gamer going a while.

Lenovo will get in with some ThinkPad discounts for Black Friday this year, too, with savings on as much as 45 percent, with the one on this year’s Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition seeing its $3129 price fall to $1699 for a Core Ultra 7 with 32GB RAM and 1TB of storage.

Valve’s Steam Deck portable gaming PC also gets a slight discount, but only on the least expensive variant. The 256GB model with the LCD display (not like the OLED model we reviewed) is down to $519.20 in Australia, down from the $649 price it was only a week ago.

If you get a chance to play classics like The Stanley Parable, play them. The Steam Deck means you can get stuck into a gaming library anywhere.

Computer retailer Mwave notes a bunch of laptops will also see prices falling, with up to 30 percent off Gigabyte gaming laptops with Black Friday price falls on MSI laptops, as well.

The retailer notes it will also have discounts on monitors from Samsung and Philips, as well as other peripherals, too.

Meanwhile, Netgear is dropping a few hundred for the season from its Orbi and Nighthawk routers, with the WiFi 7 Nighthawk RS600 we saw earlier this year falling from $799 to $599, to name a few.

Cameras

We’ve not seen a heap of Black Friday camera sales, though DigiDirect has noted it will run some interesting price drops, including the Panasonic Lumix S5 with a 20-60mm lens half price from its $3099 RRP, around $400 off a Sony E-mount 15mm F1.4 lens that normally costs $1049, and 25 percent off the $1298 Fujifilm X-Half digital camera, to name a few.

A 360 degree camera is also in the list of cameras getting the Black Friday treatment, including Insta360 X5 falling from $929 down to $790, while the Leica collaboration designed to take on the GoPro in the Ace Pro 2 is a $575 camera down from $720 for Black Friday.

Home and appliances

There does seem to be more happening in the home, what with white-goods and vacuums aplenty. and even a fridge or two on sale, as well.

Samsung’s 648 litre french door fridge with the beverage centre but without the camera and smart hub screen is down from $3799 to $2999, while LG’s variation on that theme in a 637 litre plumbed fridge is the same price, $2999 from its original price of $3799.

If you don’t need the plumbed edition and can skip the water feature, the 664 litre LG side-by-side fridge is $1499 down from $1799, while the more interesting 642 litre french door fridge with the “InstaView” door you can knock and light up the inside of goes from $4799 down to $3999.

A slightly smaller appliance, the recently reviewed Tefal Dolci ice cream maker is a much better price for the week of sales, fetching $239 instead of $350.

A different kind of home appliance, Cricut’s Joy can make custom labels, stickers, and cards, and is priced a little lower for the season.

Across the home, you might feel the need for some colour, something Nanoleaf seems suited to help with. Its light-up blocks, shapes, rope lights, outdoor string lights, and other smart light-related gear is set to see Black Friday discounts, too.

Outside the home, security can be a part of the package, with floodlight cameras and standard security cameras, something recent arrival of Reolink looks set to offer discounts in with up to 55 percent off various models.

Vacuums and mops

Over in the world of cleaning gear — aka vacuums and mops — some of the gear that’s reviewed exceedingly well is also seeing price falls.

The Roborock Qrevo Edge drops from $2799 to $1499 for Black Friday, while Roborock’s high-end Saros Z70 falls from $3999 to $2999. Even that H60 Hub Ultra stick vac we checked out recently gets half off, dropping from $999 to $499.

Ecovacs joins Roborock in this way, seeing as much as $1500 off various models, including the Deebot X2 Combo that’s both a robotic vacuum and a stick vacuum for $1299 down from $2799, and the Goat G1 robotic lawnmower for $999 down from $1999. We counted about 17 Ecovacs models in the list, so there’s a good chance a model you might be considering is in there.

It’s a similar vibe for Dreame, which sees up to 70 percent off its robotic vacuum cleaners, dropping the price of the L10S Ultra Gen 2 from $2499 to $749, plus a bunch of others, while rival Mova also sees similar drops on its robo-vacs, including the Z50 we reviewed earlier this year falling from $2999 to $1699.

If you don’t mind a bit of manual work, Tineco has its steam cleaners down in price, too, the range seeing up to 33 percent off depending on the model you opt for.

Kids gear

Looking for something for the little ones ahead of the holiday season? Black Friday has you covered as well, provided you’re looking for tech.

Spacetalk is talking up 40 percent off its Loop and Adventurer 2 smartwatches with the phone built in, the Loop dropping from $249 to $149, while the Adventurer 2 falls from $349 to $209.

Pinwheel also sees a price drop of its mobile for kids, as the Slim 6 we reviewed falls from $249 to a more wallet-friendly $149, and the Plus 5 goes from $449 to $299, though the company notes the discounts are only alongside a purchase of a quarterly or annual subscription which you need to make Pinwheel work. Skip the subscription and Pinwheel’s phone is basically a paperweight.

Australia’s answer to both in G-Mee sees a Black Friday price drop with the Connect Pro falling from $199 to $149, while the less shockproof edition in the G-Mee Play Pro is $117 down from $149.

Health

Earlier in this list, we noted the price dropping of one of our favourite wearables, the Scanwatch Nova. Withings will also offer its smart scales for less, including the Body Smart for $150, the Body Comp for $252, and the Body Scan for $640.

That’s health technology in a nut shell, used for more than just monitoring on the day to day, but also monitoring of your weight, and it’s not alone.

If you need to work out some, or you’re making getting fit one of those “must do” things for the new year, Peleton will offer its bike and treadmills for sale with up to $800 off depending on the unit.

The original prices vary between $2699 and $4999 depending on the model, and depending on the version you opt for, the sales can be quite significant. For instance, the Cross Training Bike+ Basics falls from $3899 to $3199, while the treadmill edition in the $4999 Cross Training Tread drops to $4299.

Entertainment and games

You can also save on streaming services for the next few days depending on the services you want to try.

For instance, HBO Max is a minimum of $5.99 per month Full HD with ads, $7.99 for per month Full HD without ads, and $10.99 for 4K per month 4K without ads, but each of these Black Friday offers is only for the first three months. They’re technically half price deals, but after three months, HBO Max goes back to charging you twice the cost ($11.99/$15.99/$21.99), or you can cancel the service.

Australia’s Stan is doing something similar, too, but only for two months, with a $5 per month option on the basic plan.

While a discount of a few months is “nice”, a half-price discount for a year is even better, something Paramount is offering with a Black Friday Paramount+ sale. The ad-free Full HD standard plan is $57.99 down from $116 per year, while the 4K Ultra HD Premium plan is $80 down from $160 per year, a properly decent saving.

Finally, if you’re someone who buys online games, like say for a handheld gaming PC, you probably know all about the Steam sale running this time of the year because it’s so massive. Nearly every publisher and quite a lot of games throws sales of between 15 and 90 percent, meaning a wishlist of games is suddenly much more affordable this time of year.

Code and digital goods

While the Steam sale is easily on of our favourite ways to waste money on digital items we’ll hopefully play, it’s not the only digital goods sale we’re looking forward to.

Australia’s Envato will sell its Elements subscription service for up to 50 percent off for an annual plan, while the company’s code marketplaces are also having sales on various items, giving you a reason to go look.

There’s a similar assortment of sales for the sort of digital goods creatives might want to use over at Creative Market, too, covering fonts and graphics and brushes of sorts.

And if you hope upon hope that Adobe will cut its software prices for the season, you’ll find up to 50 percent off for the Creative Cloud Pro subscription, but only if you pay for a full year. A full Adobe app subscription is normally $170 per month in Australia, but during Black Friday 2025, it’s technically $56.49 per month when you pay for the full year, or $621.09 up front prepaid.

Alternatively, there’s always Canva’s recent release of Affinity which offers similar versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign for free.
