There’s AI in everything these days, but some of the AI we’re rocking isn’t quite as advanced as the AI in other devices. With Android offering AI for some time, Apple is playing a bit of catch up, but is finally ready to show what iPhone owners look set to get later in 2026: an AI Siri.

What is it, how does it work, and will you need to upgrade your iPhone to get this smarter variation of Siri?

This week on ABC Melbourne Drive with Charlie Pickering, Leigh Stark will talk what’s on the way from Apple and Siri, and also touch on the environmental side of AI, as well. He’ll also answer questions on email and MagSafe, all on the June 16 broadcast of ABC Melbourne Drive.

Tune in from the 1 hour 35 minute mark to hear it (before the ABC pulls the recording down, usually a week or two later).
