Almost everything we use our phones, tablets, and laptops for requires an internet connection, but when you’re away from home, you’re probably looking for WiFi, and possibly public WiFi. But when is it safe to connect to a free WiFi connection, and how do you know? What sort of steps can you take to make it more secure?
On ABC Shepparton Breakfast (and ABC Goulburn Murray Breakfast as Jo Printz fills in) for June 16, we’ll talk about the risks of public WiFi and what you can do to mitigate them.

Pickr’s editor Leigh Stark joins ABC’s Jo Printz for the June 16, 2026 broadcast of ABC Shepparton Breakfast to talk tech, starting from just before the 1 hour 17 minute mark (1.16.50 to be exact).
