The last Monday in July will see every Australian phone get a ping from the government. What’s going on?
Whether you have something to do or not, every Australian will be checking their phones at 2PM Sydney/Melbourne time on July 27 for good reason: the government is running a test, and whether you like it or not, your phone will be a part.
A new emergency system “AusAlert” is being tested, and it’s going to send every phone a ping and alert that day, even if you’re on a phone call.
What’s going on, how does it work, and will your phone be affected?
Pickr’s editor Leigh Stark joins 4BC Breakfast with Jason Matthews to talk about AusAlert, and how the phone you have could impact what you see and hear that day.
