Australians across the country might have been more connected than ever on the last Monday in July, as their phones became a ringer for the new emergency broadcast system set to go online in October.

Before that happens, the Australian government needs to run a test to make sure the system works, and that’s precisely what the last Monday in July was all about. Did it work? And what crazy ideas can be put to rest?
