Nothing’s CMF budget Watch 3 challenges on price, design

Wearables aren’t usually inexpensive, and the ones that are don’t get the nicest designs. Nothing’s CMF could be a challenger for both those ideas.

There was a time when it seemed like watches weren’t in fashion, and people would regularly ask you for the time. These days, that’s less likely, possibly because more are wearing smartwatches.

An extension of your phone made for your wrist, smartwatches and other wearables bring health tracking and mobile notifications to a literal arm’s reach, connecting your device to a small screen on your body. They’re not just the time, but rather time and health and GPS and activities.

However, they can also be pricey. A good looking name-brand smartwatch will typically set you back over $300 in Australia, with some going for much, much more.

Nothing’s brand of inexpensive devices is looking to change that, however, using its CMF range to launch a sub-$200 wearable in the CMF Watch 3 Pro, a circular smartwatch designed to be minimalist and easy on the eyes, as well as the wallet, it seems.

The Watch 3 Pro gets a 1.43 circular AMOLED screen, GPS, and health tracking for heart rate, SpO2 blood oxygen, step counting, with a dose of AI thrown in for good measure.

Support for AI is something Nothing is quickly becoming known for, what with the Essential Space feature first launched on the Phone 3a Pro and its less expensive 3a sibling. On the CMF Watch 3 Pro, AI will cover recording and transcription and news by way of a ChatGPT integration.

Interestingly, the Watch 3 Pro won’t require Android to work. You’ll be able to use this wearable on iPhone and Android, opening up the options for iPhone owners to experience a different type of wearable, and one with over 130 custom faces, it seems.

The Watch 3 Pro also offers up to nearly two weeks of battery life, boasting up to 13 days in total, and is rated for IP68 water resistance.

Australians can expect to find the CMF Watch 3 Pro online and in stores shortly, priced at $179 across the country.
