Once a piece of technology solely for the early adopters, smart glasses are the latest wearable piece of technology to kick up steam, bringing a camera to the eyes with speakers and a microphone. They can capture pictures and videos, and relay calls and music to your ear, even offering up a navigation and language translation tool, or assist people with accessibility needs.
But there’s a catch: they might be used to take photos and videos without anyone knowing.
Understandably, this has sparked concerns for privacy, creating a big of a dilemma of sorts and goring concerns.
So what are they, how do they work, and are the photos from smart glasses usable for anything? Plus what are your rights if you use them, or if your photo or video is captured by someone using them? And will the technology arrive on anything else in the near future?
