If you’re at all concerned about cameras in glasses, you might want to look out, because the same technology could be in future earphones, thanks in part to a new set of rumours.
A video found inside an upcoming version of macOS suggest future AirPods could come with built-in cameras for use with AI, and like how they are on smart glasses, they could be useful for accessibility, among other things. But privacy concerns are already raising eyebrows, much as they are with smart glasses, and for much the same reason: cameras in earbuds could potentially be used to secretly film people without their consent.
Google’s new phones, on the other hand, aren’t exactly setting the world on fire. Reviewed as boring and similar to last year’s models, they’re showing that you might want to consider older models to save money, which aren’t dramatically different, or alternatively other brands which might be doing more.
