ABC Melbourne Drive: batteries and questions

If you’re having tech problems with phone batteries, you aren’t alone. We’ll talk tech on that, and answer a few more questions, too.

Phone battery life is clearly one of the biggest issues for every phone owner, usually because phones just struggle to hit a day.

Whether you’re parked near a phone charger or carrying a sizeable power bank, mobiles that last longer than a day tend to be the big ones, and even then, you might struggle a bit. Between screen time, GPS, camera use, and mobile activity, there’s a chance your phone is struggling to keep up.

But there might be hope on the horizon.

Phone manufacturers are using batteries with a new battery chemistry, as silicon-carbon looks to pack in as much as two times the battery into roughly the same size, meaning two to three times the battery life could be on the way.

This week on ABC Melbourne Drive with Charlie Pickering, you can hear all about that as Pickr’s Leigh Stark joins the show to talk phones and more, eve answering questions across eReaders, iCloud, mobiles, and more.

Tune in to Melbourne Drive for September 1 with Charlie Pickering on ABC Melbourne for the full conversation, starting from just before the 1 hour 33 mark (or 1:32:40 to get closer to the beginning).
