The premium range of Dell laptops returns in 2026, as Dell brings its cream of the crop back.
We weren’t huge fans of Dell’s switch to the Pro and Plus model names, and it turns out customers might not have been too fond of the name changes, either.
Confusion abounded throughout the year from this writer, with regular questions over what the Pro and Plus and Premium names meant, and if they were at all related to the XPS line of excellent laptops Dell was known for.
If you were wondering why there was no XPS review for 2025, it’s because we didn’t find one to review.
This year that looks set to change, as Dell revives the XPS line and name.

The new models appear to be a blend of the uniform design Dell introduced in laptops last year, while also keeping the almost invisible approach to touchpad design of the last XPS we saw, blending materials such as aluminium and glass for a sleek style.
Think softened edges on a metal chassis, and you’ll have the idea, with more of a Windows-take on a Mac metal machine, so to speak.
They’ll also see Intel’s latest hardware under the hood, running Core Ultra Series 3 processors, covering up to 12 graphics cores and improvements to both system and AI performance, plus improvements to battery life, as well, achieving as much as 27 to 40 hours of life depending on what you’re using the laptop for.

The first two Dell XPS models to see the tech improvements are the Dell XPS 14 and XPS 16, models that are now Dell’s thinnest laptops, measuring just under 15 mm, while also weighing less, as well. In fact, the XPS 14 weighs just over 1.36 kilograms, while the 16 inch XPS 16 is just over 1.6 kg.
Expect an edge-to-edge screen with Dell’s InfinityEdge display, offering options for either touchscreen LCD or OLED depending on what you’re after.
There’s no word on pricing in Australia and New Zealand just yet, but Dell has said both the XPS 14 and XPS 16 will arrive in our neck of the woods from the end of January, with a slightly smaller XPS 13 also on the way, set to be Dell’s thinnest and lightest laptop, and with a more accessible price point.
