Two Aussie stars unite as Bluey, Fruit Ninja join forces

Apple Arcade has a pretty awesome collaboration running until August, as Fruit Ninja gets a special edition with four of the most famous Aussies around.

Whether you’re someone who loves to play a bit of real-life Keepy Uppy or just a fan of plonking yourself and the kids in front of the telly to watch TV together, Bluey is easily one of Australia’s better cultural exports. A kids TV show that also appeals to adults, it has become more than just another show the kids watch to one parents talk about together.

This export is joining forces with another Aussie export for the next couple of months, and the result could be something kids and adults end up enjoying together: Bluey is entering the world of Fruit Ninja.

In an Apple Arcade exclusive, the Australian makers of Fruit Ninja (Halfbrick) have teamed up with the team behind Bluey (Ludo Studio) to turn the world of Fruit Ninja Classic+ into something more like that of Bluey.

“Bluey and Fruit Ninja are both born and bred in Brisbane, and I’ve been friends with the Halfbrick legends for ages,” said Joe Brumm, Creator of Bluey.

“This project is really special, and it’s a joy to be working together,” he said.

You’re still going to be slicing and dicing and slashing your way through gads of fruit, but instead of 3D modelled fruit, it’ll be animated in the style of Bluey, complete with the titular character, her sister Bingo, and the rest of the fam.

Bluey Fruit Ninja Classic+ also includes nods to the show, such as a sticky gecko, a featherwand’s heavy mode, and the rooms of the Heeler house.

This Bluey edition of Fruit Ninja Classic is also specific to Apple Arcade, and only runs until August 13, making it a game families may want to get stuck into for the next couple of months, joining the Bluey Lego, which could also keep the family entertained, as well.
