If your kids are always asking and pleading to get them a tablet, a new option from Samsung actually comes with kid-focused features and a durable case.
It’s near the end of the year, and if you thought companies were done with releasing new gear, you’d be wrong. Granted, not all of the gear is as exciting as a super-thin foldable phone, but some gear sees the improvements from recent releases trickle down into less expensive price points.
The latest case of that could be Samsung’s next in its Galaxy Tab “11” range, which moves on from the Tab S11 we checked out recently into the A11, coming in two variations, the A11 and A11+.
Both will technically be available, but only the A11+ will be made for consumers, with the smaller A11 for business customers only.

Over in the world of the consumers, the Galaxy Tab A11+ appears to be built as more of a budget or mid-range option, offering an 11 inch LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate, 6.9mm thickness, support for WiFi 5 (802.11ac), and comes with a MediaTek processor inside instead of the typical Samsung-made Exynos or the high-end Qualcomm chips.
High-end is not really what the Tab A11+ aims to be, offering 6GB RAM and 28GB storage starting points, or 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It doesn’t even support Samsung’s S-Pen stylus, making it more like a basic tablet than a premium tablet (and weirdly, while the A11+ offers Android 16, the B2B-only A11 standard is Android 15).
But it does bring a hint of water resistance at IP52, two cameras (front and back), and a fairly friendly price tag, arriving in Australia for $379.

Perhaps more interesting is the Galaxy Tab A11+ Kids Edition, a variation on the theme that includes stickers, a puffy protective case with a stand, and a thick pen tied to a string that kids can use with the Samsung Kids mode making it a little bit better than just enough tablet that’s clearly not made with kids in mind.
Samsung’s kid-version of the Galaxy Tab A11+ adds an extra $50 to the package, making it $429 and available from Samsung’s online store, but will see the Kids edition available for the first few weeks of December for $100 less, at $329.
