Depending on what you were doing the evening of October 20, 2025 in Australia, you might not have noticed it. If you were reading a book, sitting down for dinner, or getting to bed early, nothing would have changed.
But if you were awake, browsing the web, trying to Snapchat or play Roblox, or using a variety of services or websites, you might have thought the internet was broken.
Over at one of Amazon’s massive data centres, the server provider had huge problems, taking out a lot of services. So what went wrong?
