Pickr can now be heard on ABC Sydney, Melbourne weekly

The voice behind the site now be heard at least three times a week across the country on the national broadcaster.

For the past ten years, Pickr has focused on delivering technology in a way that makes it “happy to help”. Specifically, the approach is that technology should be approachable, and when it can’t be explained, there’s a friendly face and voice to make it so it can.

That’s what we’ve tried through our website design — clear and readable on any device at any time of day, complete with day and night modes — and through some of the extra functions the site has to offer.

The Pickr Helpr tool lets you quickly sort through reviews based on good, better, and best, and the review widgets on the homepage aim to do some of the heavy lifting for you on popular topics, as well.

Meanwhile, our personalised benchmarks offer a world-first feature no other website has: an easy way to quickly see how a phone you already own relates to a phone you might be reading a review of.

In short, we’re doing what we can to change the way you choose, and we’re really happy to help.

One of the best ways to help, however, is by reaching out across the airwaves.

For the past few years, there’s been more of that, joining the likes of 2GB, 2HD, 3AW, 4BC, FiveAA, and 6PR to chat about tech.

Earlier this year, I joined ABC Melbourne Drive with Ali Moore for a regular tech segment on Tuesdays, and in April, the reach is expanding just that little bit more.

From this month, you’ll also find an appearance on ABC Sydney Drive with Thomas Oriti, making it two drive-time programs per week, plus fortnightly appearances on the breakfast programs for ABC Goulburn-Murray and ABC Shepparton.

You’ll also hear the occasional appearance on the likes of ABC Adelaide, ABC Brisbane, ABC Canberra, ABC Darwin, and ABC Perth, as well as a bunch of other stations around the country. You only need to check Pickr’s media appearances to see how often they spring up.

That’s no less than three weekly appearances on the national broadcaster, covering technology news, the occasional review, and even answering questions from listeners. If you ever wanted to ask for help with anything, you can listen in and make the call. Happy to help.
