If you had a new Sonos gadget on your wishlist for 2026 then there’s good news, though it’s quite possibly tinged with a little bit of bad news, as well. A little like cursed froghurt, the first addition for Sonos this year is only meant for some people, specifically those with so much money and room, they don’t question the cost.
Officially, the new product is called the Amp Multi, but unofficially, you might want to call it the Sonos amplifier that connects a bunch of speakers together for complex rooms and large homes, because that’s what it is.
Designed more for integrators than everyone else, the Sonos Amp Multi is an update to the smaller Sonos Amp, arriving with eight amplified outputs and 125 watts each, technically catering for up to 24 of the Sonos architecture ceiling speakers, and able to be set up with multiple Amp Multi models. Grab a few and stick them in a rack.

The concept basically expands the Sonos zone concept to more complex houses with lots of space and lots of speakers, and even uses a power technology we’ve seen on power packs in GaN, also known as Gallium Nitride.
This won’t be recharging your phone or laptop like a regular GaN pack, but it does use GaN to keep the size of the hardware down, and allow Sonos to pack in the technology into a set-top unit.
There’s also an interesting feature Sonos has added that provides more control, arriving in “ProTune”, a manual sound tweaking tool that provides specific control to each output, covering parametric EQ, width, and delay offset, something that we’re beginning to wish was on regular Sonos speakers, as well.
About the only thing Sonos hasn’t provided is pricing, which will very likely sit in the ballpark of “if you have to ask” when it lands later this year.
