There’s no use denying the air fryer’s position in the kitchen, even if you’re not a fan. While the concept is basically a compact fan forced oven, kitchens tend to love them because they offer an easy way to cook, blending speed and control, and sometimes being a little better for you, as well.
But the air fryer doesn’t tend to be a good looking device. Little more than a black box with handles, it’s typically a box made to cook and that’s it. Aesthetics aren’t always the most obvious thing considered in an air fryer design.
The latest gadget from Ninja could well be changing that, offering a concept that kind of looks like it’s a combination of cooking and entertainment, while also arriving with a degree of convenience, as well.
Like the Ninja Slushi, it’s a gadget that skips the “y” and replaces it with an “i”. But this gadget is more about bringing the heat as opposed to keeping things cool.

Called the “Crispi Pro”, Ninja’s latest is an air fryer with a bit of a difference: you can see the food while it cooks, using a glass container with the 2050 watt air fryer mechanism to cook. The concept means cooking is technically see-through, providing eyes on for the chef, and also anyone else entering the kitchen as food cooks.
To make it work, the Crispi Pro includes two sizes of glass containers, covering 2.3 litres and 5.7 litres, though the modular base also covers an optional 3.8 litre container. All three are compatible, and come with a secret: the glass container used to cook the food is also the storage for the food, including leakproof lids.
For those playing along at home, it means the dish you cook food in using the Crispi Pro is also the dish you’ll store the food in, able to leave it in the fridge later on.

While air frying is obviously the main focus here, Ninja’s Crispi Pro includes other settings, including a bake setting for bread (as well as a prove setting for the dough), roast for veggies and protein, two crisp options covering maximum crisp and recrisp, and then also a dehydrate option for folks dehydrating fruit and meat.
Australians can expect to find the Ninja Crispi Pro 6-in-1 glass air fryer in stores shortly, priced at $499.99 locally, with folks across the puddle in New Zealand seeing it for $549.99.
