It’s March, and if you’re a regular to this site (or pretty much any other technology website), you may know that now is the time for new phones, courtesy of Mobile World Congress. That means it’s time to find out what’s coming for folks keen on buying something new, as mobile makers reveal their hands for devices meant to go in the hands, and also the pockets.
We’ve started to see new mobiles trickle out from the event, and Motorola is next, showcasing something we saw a preview of at CES earlier this year: a foldable.
Not just a flip fold, but a proper foldable tablet phone, coming in the Razr Fold.
Built as a Motorola equivalent to the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, the Razr Fold continues the name and work we’ve seen in the previous Razr models, but applies it to a larger device.

Technically called a “book-style foldable”, the Razr Fold is familiar, yet distinct to the clamshell foldable phones Motorola is famed for, many of which come from that “Razr” name Motorola has continued to use.
The Razr Fold uses a folding screen similar to those models, but it’s bigger, with a 6.6 inch screen on the outside and an 8.1 inch 2K screen on the inside. It’ll see three cameras in its design, using three 50 megapixel cameras for wide, ultrawide, and 3X optical, while also using two selfie cameras covering 20 megapixels and 32 megapixels, so there seems to be plenty of megapixels to go around.
There’s also a sound system tweaked by Bose, something of a thing with Motorola which partnered with the audio specialists for earphones in 2024, and the chip is pretty flash, too. Much like what was announced for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Motorola will be using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, paired with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.

You’ll even find a pen for use with the foldable, something that has largely been absent from Samsung’s most recent foldable, though support was there previously on the Z Fold 6.
All in all, it looks like an interesting take on foldables, with a very premium style and a look belonging to Motorola.
However, there’s no word on local availability, meaning this one could take some time before Australians see it, if ever at all.

What we will likely see are the other Mobile World Congress 2026 announcements, which include two new earphones in the Moto Buds 2 and Moto Buds 2 Plus, as well as a generation of Motorola Edge in the Edge 70 Fusion, a sizeable 6.78 inch phone with an even more sizeable 7000mAh battery, essentially boasting up to 50 hours of battery life.
While pricing and availability details aren’t yet known, Motorola Australia says details will be shared soon. Make of that what you will.
