The future of TVs is probably may eventually be see-through, but if you have enough money not to flinch at the sight of a big price tag, you can own one before anyone else.
Big TVs tend to command hefty price tags, and for that size you typically also get some pretty impressive technology, too.
But it’s not always the biggest screens that can charge a fortune. Sometimes it’s from the technology that is so cutting edge, it makes sense that it can command such a high price.
Ever since LG announced its transparent OLED TV back in 2024, we’ve wondered just how much LG Australia would charge for the technology, and now we have an idea. Spoiler alert: it’s a little less than the $100K we expected, but it’s still not an inexpensive screen.
However, if you’re someone that has to have a screen that’s both transparent and clearly there, and a high price tag doesn’t bother you, the LG OLED TV is launching in Australia for $74,999.

Easily one of the country’s priciest TVs, the OLED T is also the only transparent television available in Australia, providing a 77 inch see-through TV inside of its own furniture, complete with the LG Zero Connect wireless transmitter box used at the base of the “T-Objet” TV stand it comes in.
Going cord free for the entertainment helps to make the OLED T look like it’s floating, providing a 120Hz display that you can peek through while you watch movies and shows.
The OLED T also gets support for both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync, making it a transparent TV suitable for gamers, as well.
“With the LG OLED T, we are showcasing the pinnacle of LG innovation, a powerful testament to our commitment to delivering new and better screen solutions in the home,” said Tony Brown, General Manager of the Home Entertainment Marketing and Content Business for LG in Australia and New Zealand.
“Embodying our focus on smart life solutions, it’s innovation that genuinely enhances the everyday, making life good by redefining how technology integrates beautifully into the Australian home,” he said.
LG’s Signature OLED T is available now from the LG website, and we’re checking with the company to find out if any local stockists will have the screen in store. If you’re spending that amount of money, you probably want to make sure it looks good.
