Owners of a Google Pixel mightn’t need to do too much searching if they break their phone, as Google connects with local repairers.
It’s pretty clear that the experience of owning a phone differs across brands, but the same sort of thing is true if you need to get that phone repaired.
For instance, if you accidentally (or intentionally) break an iPhone, you can find an iPhone repairer pretty easily most capital cities across Australia, and if you own a Samsung device, you might even be able to take your phone to one of the handful of Samsung stores or repair teams in the various states.
But what if you have a Pixel? It’s not as if Google has stores across the country. Sure, it’s the world’s biggest search engine, but retail outlets are not something Google offers, beyond the occasional pop-up.
However ahead of the end of the year, the maker of the Pixel has sent word that it has teamed up with a few stores across the country to fix its phones when owners need it.
Officially, Google has connected with PTC Phone Tech & Comm, a company that can handle screen and battery issues in ten of its stores, with an extra ten more expected by the end of January 2026. That should also cover repairs needed across other Pixel devices, including the Pixel Watch and Pixel Buds, with a two year warranty on devices.
As for how much repairs outside of warranty will cost, Google hasn’t quite said. For instance, Apple does offer estimated pricing for most of its devices, giving you a gauge as to how much repairs can hit the wallet for, and whether or not it just might be more cost effective to replace the device.
