Scammers are out for more of your money, and they’re using convincing fakes to get your attention. What’s going on, and what can you do?
There’s a new scam every day, but lately, the attempts seem even more aggressive than normal. They’re everywhere: on your phone in SMS, in your calls, your emails, and yes, even on social media.
In fact, social media is seeing a different type of scam designed to provoke outrage, with a literal interpretation of fake news working as an ad to convince you that a politician or someone equally important said something and you can make money like they did.
What’s going on? And how do scammers make it seem like these stories are real?
