The iPhone X doesn’t seem all that old, and yet it found itself on the wrong end of an update this week. What happened?
Patches are supposed to fix an assortment of bugs, but when Apple rolled out an iOS patch this week for three iPhone models, customers of the Telstra network got the shock of their life, as their phones disconnected entirely.
Whether you were a Telstra customer or someone who subscribed to one of the smaller carriers that uses the Telstra network, if you updated your iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, or iPhone X within a day or two of the iOS 16.7.13 going out, your phone stopped connecting for calls and data, and even emergency services using Telstra’s towers.
So what happened? Pickr’s editor Leigh Stark joined 4BC Breakfast with Dean and Sofie on January 29 to explain, which you can hear below. And if you’re struggling to find a fix, we have instructions on what to do, as well.
